CERT Team

The Corrections Emergency Response Team (CERT) was established to better prepare for and handle emergencies that may arise in the Winnebago County correctional facility. This is a dedicated and specialized team trained in critical incident procdeures to resolve high risk situations. They receive monthly team training in control tactics, forced cell extractions, cell block disturbances, riots, less lethal munitions, firearms and other types of emergencies that may occur in a corrections environment. Currently, the CERT Team  has one commander, two squad leaders and 22 officers.
