Murder/ 228 Woodrow

On Tuesday September 10, 2013 at approximately 12:42a.m. Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to 228 Woodrow Ave in regards to a death investigation.

Upon arrival the deputies found an 8yr old boy in the driveway, deceased. There were apparent stab wounds to his body.

A female, later identified as the child’s mother was in the driveway next to the child. She was detained and transported to the Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau for further investigation. Other family members were inside of the home.

The body of the young boy was transported to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office where an autopsy will be scheduled.

The investigation is on-going and under review by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.
