School Bus Accident

On Wednesday August 21, 2013 at approximately 8:30a.m. a Rockton school bus, which was westbound on Rockton Rd., was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The crash caused the school bus to flip on its side. The bus was occupied by the driver and five students. All were transported to hospitals for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The crash took place on Rockton Road, east of Forest Preserve Road.

The driver of the vehicle, 23yr old Mary Sartino of Rockford, was also transported to the hospital where she was treated and released.

Ms Sartino has been charged with Aggravated DUI (drugs). Ms Sartino has been lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.

The charge against Ms Sartino is merely an accusation. She is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
