Search Warrant/ Narcotics/ Waco Street Gang

On Thursday November 7 2013 at approximately 10:15a.m., members of the Winnebago County Violent Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at 818 Sanford Street in Rockford in reference to narcotics being sold by members of the Waco Street Gang (a Criminal Organization).

The Violent Crimes Task Force consists of members of the Rockford Police Department, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, the Loves Park Police Department, the Illinois State Police and Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives. The unit works in close coordination with FBI and DEA.

During the execution of the warrant three alleged members of the Waco Street Gang were taken into custody.

-       Johnny Washington (male DOB 1-2-90/ 23yrs old)/charged with Violation of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act (possession of heroin with intent to deliver/1-15grams) and Parole Violation.

-       Abe Lagrant Brown (male DOB 6-19-87/26yrs old)/charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Justice.

-       Demario Javon Cole (male DOB 12-23-92/20yrs old)/charged with Resisting Arrest.

The charges against Washington, Brown and Cole are merely accusations. They are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

All were lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
