On Monday January 20, 2014 shortly after 2:00a.m. the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a medical assist at Legends Bar, 618 Superior Ave Machesney Park, Illinois.

 

Upon arrival deputies located 40yr old Michael S. Eash Jr. (Machesney Park). Eash was un-conscious and was transported to a Rockford Hospital.

 

It was determined that Eash had a severe internal head injury and has undergone surgery and is listed in critical condition.

 

UPDATED INFORMATION 1-21-2014/ 4P.M.

 

Information developed by Winnebago County Sheriff’s detectives through follow-up investigation (aided by information supplied by the public), was reviewed with the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office on 1-21-14.

 

An arrest warrant was authorized for Matthew John Duncan (male DOB 04-26-84/29 yrs old) for the charge of Aggravated Battery (2 counts). Duncan is a resident of Machesney Park,Illinois.

 

Duncan is not in custody. Anyone with information on Duncan is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department (815/319-6300) or CrimeStoppers (815/9637867).

 

The charges against Duncan are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

 

UPDATE: 1-23-2014

 

Matthew Duncan turned himself in at approximately 5:50a.m 1-23-2014. He arrived at the front desk of the Winnebago County Justice Center.

 

He was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail pending bond.
