Fatal Accident

On Wednesday November 13, 2013 Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to the area of Blackhawk Rd. and Mulford Rd. in reference to a person in the roadway.

Upon arrival they found Dennis Scott Rossato (male/dob 11-18-84/26yrs old/Rockford) in the roadway injured. He was transported to a local hospital and admitted for treatment.

In checking the area further a vehicle was found in the ditch on Mulford approximately 500 feet north of Blackhawk Rd (southbound). The deceased body of a 24yr old male was found near the vehicle.

The vehicle had major damage and appeared to have rolled over. The vehicle was a Lincoln Navigator.

Preliminary investigation indicates that this was a single car accident.

The investigation as to the cause of the accident and position of the men in the vehicle is on-going. The accident is being re-constructed by Winnebago County Deputies. No charges have been filed at this point.

The name of the deceased male will be released by the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office once notification of relatives is complete.
