On Wednesday November 19, 2008 at approximately 9:20P.M. Winnebago County

Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to 315 Wilshire Blvd,Machesney Park, Illinois in reference

to a shooting.

Upon arrival Deputies found 61yr old Ronald E. Harbison lying in the driveway with a

gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital where

he was pronounced dead.

Deputies located a suspect inside a trailer at the address who was identified as Howard

R. Dunn (male DOB 4-15-44/64yrs old).He was taken into custody and has since been

charged with First Degree Murder. A weapon was recovered at the scene. (Shotgun).

Investigation by Sheriff’s Detectives indicated that the victim and suspect knew each

other.

The charge was authorized by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. The

charge is merely an allegation. Dunn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
