Information: Infant Death Investigation

   At approximately 0846hrs on Friday July 13, 2012 Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputieswere sent to One Source Recycle (Total Waste) in reference to a deceased infant. Upon arrival it was determined that a newborn infant male had been found dead on a conveyor belt line by employees of the firm. The Company employees immediately called 911 after having found the infant. Garbage is recycled at this location after having been brought there by multiple regional garbage companies. Sheriff’s Detectives arrived at the scene along with Crime Scene deputies and a death investigation initiated. Representatives from the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office and the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office were also present at the scene. THE INVESTIGATION OF THE DECEASED INFANT BABY BOY (NOAH) HAS BEEN ON-GOING SINCE JULY 13, 2012. AN AUTOPSY WAS DONE, FORENSIC TESTING IS IN PROGRESS AND MULTIPLE INTERVIEWS HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED. AT THIS POINT PARENTS OF THE CHILD HAVE NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED. THE MEDIA IS AGAIN ASKED TO SEEK THE PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE WITH INFORMATION ON THIS CASE. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT (815/319-6400) OR CRIMESTOPPERS (815/963-7867).
