On Tuesday September 24, 2013 at approximately 10:00a.m., Jarvis Washington (male DOB 6-16-87) was arrested in a residence in the 3000 block of Chateau Lane. He was found hiding in a closet.

Washington was arrested by Detectives of the Rockford Police Department, Loves Park Police Department and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department as a result of a joint investigation. Also involved in the investigation (but not present at the arrest) were Agents of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol,Tobacco,Firearms and Explosives and the Illinois State Police.

These agencies have combined resources targeting violent criminal street gangs.

Washington was wanted on outstanding warrants for Domestic Battery, Fleeing and Failure to Appear on an Aggravated Battery charge. Washington is an alleged member of the Waco street gang.

During the course of the arrest in excess of 200 grams of cocaine and 50 grams of heroin as well as marijuana was recovered. A handgun was also seized.

In addition to the warrants Washington is charged with Violation of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act (possession with intent to deliver both heroin and cocaine). He is also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

The charges against Washington are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Washington is lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
