Burglary Arrests

   On Tuesday July 17, 2012 at approximately 11:57P.M. Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police patrol deputies were sent to Pomps Tire, 7745 Burden Rd Machesney Park Illinois, in regards to a burglar alarm. Deputies arrived in the area quickly and observed a van leaving the area, occupied by two males. This van was stopped and the occupants identified as Michael S. Smallwood (DOB 11-30-78/33yrs) and Dustin J. Milvert (DOB 2-20-95/17yrs). Both men live in Machesney Park. Investigation at Pomps Tire revealed that entry had been gained by cutting through a garage door with tools. Further investigation by Sheriff’s deputies and detectives linked the men to the burglary at Pomps Tire and they were both subsequently charged with burglary and lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charge against both men is merely an accusation. They are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Numerous burglaries of similar nature have also been reported to the Rockford Police Department and the Loves Park Police Department and detectives from both agencies are working with Sheriff’s detectives on follow-up.
