Hit And Run Accident

  On Thursday 9-15-11 at approximately 11:51P.M. a Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police marked squad car, driven by a male deputy was south bound in the 1200 block of North Main St.  A northbound vehicle crossed over the center line and struck the squad. The deputy driving the squad was not injured, however the squad sustained heavy damage. The offending vehicle which also was heavily damaged, continued northbound and was found abandoned on Reynolds Ave. The male driver fled on foot. The suspect vehicle was impounded. (brown 1995 Cadillac 4dr.) Winnebago County Sheriff’s Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation. This has resulted in a warrant being issued for Kerry O. Williams (male DOB 2-7-87/24yrs old).Williams lives in Rockford. The warrant is for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to provide information. Anyone with information on Williams is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department (815/3196300) or CrimeStoppers (815/9637867). At this time a photo is not available for Williams.
