Infant Death Investigation

   At approximately 0846hrs on Friday July 13, 2012 Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputieswere sent to One Source Recycle (Total Waste) in reference to a deceased infant. Upon arrival it was determined that a newborn infant male had been found dead on a conveyor belt line by employees of the firm. The Company employees immediately called 911 after having found the infant. Garbage is recycled at this location after having been brought there by multiple regional garbage companies. Sheriff’s Detectives arrived at the scene along with Crime Scene deputies and a death investigation initiated. Representatives from the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office and the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office were also present at the scene. An autopsy will be conducted on Saturday 7-14-2012 An appeal is being made to the public for information. If anyone has information on this incident they are asked to call the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department (815/319-6300) or CrimeStoppers (815/9637867)
