Katrina A. Smith 30yrs old of Machesney Park was reported missing on Tuesday 10-23-12. Her vehicle was found abandoned at Obispo and Ventura in Machesney Park at approximately 7:50P.M.on 10-23-12. Neighbors reported seeing the vehicle parked at that location earlier in the day, un-occupied. Ms Smith’s purse was recovered on Wednesday 10-24-12 a short distance from where the vehicle was located. Her cell phone was recovered in the 700 block of Ralston on Thursday 10-25-12. Ms Smith worked at Camryn Company in Belvidere, Illinois. She worked in the Human Resource Department. Ms Smith is married and her residence is on Tetterhall Ln. in Machesney Park Illinois, however she has recently been staying in Roscoe. Ms Smith has no children; however has family in the area. Detectives have been able to determine that Ms Smith was shopping Monday night 10-22-12 between 7 P.M. and 8P.M. at Department Stores in the area of N. 2nd St. and 173 in Machesney Park. She then reportedly returned to her residence in Machesney Park and left around 9P.M. to run additional errands. An extensive search of the area where the vehicle and phone were recovered was conducted with negative results. Family and friends of Ms Smith have also been conducting searches of the area.
