Murder/ 2005 Weldon Rd

    On Thursday December 30, 2010 at approximately 8:32 P.M. Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to 2005 Weldon Rd. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival the deputies were directed to the living room, inside of the home. They found the victim on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. At this point the identity of the victim is not being released pending notification of his family. An autopsy will be conducted by the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office. Representatives of the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office were also contacted and came to the scene. No one is in custody at this time and the investigation is on-going by Winnebago County Sheriff’s Detectives.  Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau (815/3196400), or Crime Stoppers (815/9637867).
