On Wednesday February 12, 2014 Deputies assigned to the Special Focus Unit conducted a traffic stop at Auburn and Springfield Ave in Rockford, Illinois.
The driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Impala did not stop for a red light turning onto Auburn St.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Rumualdo Delacruz-Delgado (male DOB 2-7-60/54yrs old/Rockford)
A search of the vehicle was subsequently conducted.
A box was located in the vehicle which contained a package of suspected cocaine (wrapped in plastic). The weight of the suspected cocaine was over 1000grams (1 kilo/2.2.lbs).
Further investigation by deputies of the Focus Unit and deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Police Narcotic Unit led to an apartment on the southeast side of Rockford.
$31,996.00 was recovered from the apartment.
Delacruz-Delgado was charged with Violation of the Illinois Controlled Substance Act (possession of cocaine with intent to deliver). He is lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
Delacruz-Delgado is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
