On December 24, 2011 an accident took place on Bypass 20 which resulted in the deaths of Dea Crose and Cole Trusler. The accident was investigated by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department and reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result of the investigation a Winnebago County Illinois Grand Jury returned an indictment against Anthony D. Crose (DOB 9-17-77) of Winnebago, Illinois. Crose is charged with Reckless Homicide and Aggravated Reckless Driving. On May 11, 2012 Crose turned himself in on the warrants and was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against Crose are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
