On Thursday October 31, 2013 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Detectives of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police the Rockford Police Department and Loves Park Police Department (members of the Winnebago County Violent Crimes Task Force) executed a search warrant at 2904 Conklin Drive Apt.16,(Rockford) for narcotics and weapons.

 

The target of the search warrant was Charles Brown Jr. (DOB 5-13-88/25yrs old) AKA “Tweet”, a known WACO street gang member (a criminal organization).

 

During the execution of the warrant Brown was located in the apartment. A quantity of a substance believed to be heroin, a loaded semi-automatic pistol and ammunition was recovered.

 

Brown has been charged with the following:

 

-Violation of the Illinois Controlled Substance Act (possession of over 15grams of heroin with intent to deliver)

 

-Unlawful Use of weapons by a felon

 

- Parole Violation.

 

The charges against Brown are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. He is lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.

 

The Winnebago County Violent Crimes Task Force is a multi agency investigative unit formed to target the most violent offenders. It includes members of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police, the Rockford Police Department, the Loves Park Police Department the Illinois State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives.
