Search Warrant (gang/narcotic Arrest)/ 826 Royal Ave

On Thursday November 21, 2013 at approximately1:30P.M.members of the Winnebago County Violent Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at 826 Royal Ave, Rockford, Illinois.

The Task Force consists of Detectives of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, the Rockford Police Department, the Loves Park Police Department, Agents of the Illinois State Police and Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives.

Members of the Task Force work in close co-ordination with the FBI and DEA.

The target of the search warrant was Dashon Chandler (male DOB 5-18-76/37yrs old).Chandler lives at the Royal Ave location.

Chandler is a known member of the Vice Lord street gang, a violent criminal organization.

Recovered during the execution of the warrant was a quantity of suspected marijuana and a loaded handgun. The handgun had been reported stolen to the Rockford Police Department.

Chandler has been charged as follows:

-       Violation of the Illinois Cannabis Control Act (possession with intent to deliver)

-       Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a felon

-       Armed Violence

-       Possession of Stolen Property

The charges against Chandler are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Chandler has been lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
