Shooting/ 1415 N. Horace Ave, Rockford, Illinois

   On Sunday November 6, 2011 at approximately 3:04a.m. Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to 1415 N. Horace Ave, Rockford, Illinois in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival a 16yr old boy was located inside the home with several gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening wounds. Information developed at the scene indicated that the victim had been inside the residence asleep with other family members when a knock was heard at the front door. The victim went to the door and gunshots were fired through the door striking the victim. West Suburban Fire Department responded and treated the victim and he was transported to the hospital. At this point no arrests have been made. Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department (815/3196300) or Crime Stoppers (815/9637867). The follow-up investigation is being conducted by Winnebago County Sheriff’s Detectives.
