Shooting/ 5988 Heidi Dr, Rockford, Illinois

 On Saturday July 27, 2013, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to 5988 Heidi Dr. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival they found a shooting victim. He was transported to the hospital. Two additional victims showed up at Rockford Hospitals. Derrick D. Jacobs (20yrs old) had a gunshot wound to his side. Tevin J.D. Gray (17yrs old) had gunshot wounds to his legs.  Austin A. Richardson (19yrs old) had a gunshot wound to his arm. He was treated and released. He was taken into custody on an un-related warrant and lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. None of the victims live at the Heidi Dr. location but all are Rockford residents.   Information developed at the scene by Winnebago County Sheriff’s Detectives was that a large party had taken place and a dispute arose between rival groups and gunshots were exchanged. Multiple shell casings were located, both inside and outside of the house.  At this point no one is in custody for the shooting and the investigation is on-going. Anyone with information is asked to call the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department (815/319-6300) or CrimeStoppers (815/963-7867). The charge against Richardson is merely an accusation. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
